Once A Medafighter, Part 1

Episode Summary

After a fight with his sister, Ginkai takes a good, hard look at his past. He fondly remembers the days he battled with his medabot, Bayonet.

One afternoon after crumbling weaker medabots with Kam, Ginkai overhears Erika tell Ikki of a robattle tournament sponsored by the Medabot Corporation. The tournament winner will be presented with ArcDash and TyrelBeetle.

It's the day of the tournament, and Dr. Aki reads the rules to the audience and contestants. "Each match will last 3 minutes. The medafighter who forces his oponent's medabot to cease funtion will be declared the winner. If a winner is not declared during that time, a decision will be made using the accumulated damage points. Leaving the ring for more than a 10 count automatically costs the match. Remember, we all win when we robattle with the Medabot Spirit!"

1st up is Zuru and The Loan Stranger (actually... it's Ginkai in a disguise that's not fooling anyone). Unitrix makes short work of Zuru's bot and the rest of his opponents. It's down to the finals, and it's no surprise that it's Unitrix vs. Metabee! To everyone's shock, Ginkai is actually following all the rules!

When a tiebreaker is called, Kam shows up with Redrun. He insists Ginkai takes this opportunity to destroy Metabee, but Ginkai wants to follow the rules! Kam tells Redrun to go into action mode and destroy Metabee's medal. Ginkai blocks Kam and Redrun saying, "You don't belong here Kam. This is my robattle, and I'm going to fight it fair and square. I don't need dirty tricks to win. I'm tired of this senseless destruction. Please...let's stop."

Kam refuses basically saying Ginkai should show his gratitude to him. When Kam orders Redrun to destroy the medal once again, Ginkai orders Unitrix to stop him. "You disobeyed my orders. Too bad for you Ginkai." Kam threatens. Ikki looks on thinking, "Ginkai...even with Unitrix, you're no match for Kam and Redrun!"
