A short time after the confrontation with Byakuya and Renji, Ichigo is unable to find Rukia. He tracks down Uryu, who suggests Urahara's shop. Kisuke says that Rukia is probably meeting with her brother to ask him to spare your life. With Kisuke's help, Ichigo finds Rukia, Renji, and Byakuya. He confidently claims that he will defeat the Grand Fisher Hollow with the condition that Rukia will be freed. Once it is done, he will return her reaper powers triple fold.
