Several years after the events of the last episode, disappearances of the Rukongai citizens have escalated.

Kensei Muguruma, Captain of the ninth division and his team are sent to investigate. While doing so, they rescue three boys from a huge hollow...one of which happens to be young Shuhei Hisagi.
