Highlights:
Ichigo begins his fight against Quilge Opie (Sternritter "J", "The Jail"). The Tres Bestias summon Ayon and re-join the fight against Quilge Opie.
Ishida Uryu learns the truth of the conflict that occurred between Soul Society and the Quincies 200 years ago. It is revealed that 12th Division captain, Kurotsuchi Mayuri ordered his division to exterminate the civilians in Rukon District (refer to episode 1) in order to correct the soul imbalance caused by the Quincys exterminating hollows in the Living World. It is, also, revealed that Captain Commander Yamamoto Genryusai failed to kill the leader of the Quincys 1000 years ago.
Quilge Opie absorbs Reishi in the area (including from Ayon) and overpowers the Tres Bestias but clashes with Ichigo once again.
Elsewhere, the Quincys begin their assault on Soul Society.
