The Diamond Dust Rebellion

** Every few decades in the Soul Society, the secret location of the Ouin, the Royal Seal, is changed. The ceremony is a very solemn sight. Atop a float musicians play court music and a dancer performs. After the ritual, members of the Kido Corps carry off a portable shrine containing the Ouin.

All but the member of the royal family are forbidden to see the Ouin. Even the Soul Reapers don't know the extent of its powers or how to use it. All that is known is that the Ouin is a drifting power that shifts its location every few decades.

But this time someone steals the Ouin as it is being moved! Toshiro Hitsugaya, captain of Squad Ten of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, is guarding it when the portable shrine suddenly explodes, injuring many. Captain Hitsugaya battles a mysterious figure and is seriously injured, disappearing from the scene without a trace. Captain Hitsugaya is accused of abandoning his duties, and the Stealth Force is sent to apprehend him. The rest of Squad Ten are relieved of their zanpakuto and confined to their barracks.

In the World of the Living, Ichigo Kurosaki, a Substitute Soul Reaper who lives in Karakura Town, happens to find the unconscious Captain Hitsugaya. Ichigo takes the captain home and lets him rest. When Captain Hitsugaya wakes up, he tries to sneak out, but Ichigo notices his attempt to leave. The captain threatens Ichigo with his zanpakuto and disappears again. And when the Soul Reapers sent to find him catch up to him, Captain Hitsugaya once again draws his sword on his comrades and flees..

Meanwhile in the Soul Society, someone attacks Shunsui Kyoraku, the captain of Squad Eight. The evidence suggests that his wounds were caused by Captain Hitsugaya's zanpakuto.

Why has Captain Hitsugaya disappeared? And where is the Ouin? The only clue is the work "Kusaka," which Captain Hitsugaya uttered when Ichigo found him.

And so the order to execute Captain Hitsugaya is announced.....

** Booklet released along with the 2 disc set of Bleach Movie 2 by VIZ Media.

Loved this movie especially since I am a big fan of Captain Hitsugaya. The next few pages of images contain some more brief information on the movie.

During the attack on the shrine, Captain Hitsugaya was stabbed in abdomen. Later, we'll come to find out that he was stabbed so that the main antagonist, Kusaka Soujirou, could trace the young Captain with his Zanpakutou.

In the Land of the Living, Ichigo and Ishida see Captain Hitsugaya collapse and take him home. When he awakes, Ichigo questions him, but Toshiro is unwilling to talk. Ichigo finally gives up and says he'll contact Inoue in the morning to take care of his injuries.
