Episode 12: Scream

Picking up from last episode, Erin and Mikasa are looking right into the eyes of the Titan that devoured Erin's mother. Elsewhere, it's absolute chaos! The Scouts are not only trying to defend themselves, but also trying to keep from getting crushed when the Armored Titan begins tossing other Titans around like rag dolls. Eren tries to transform, but cannot. Sadly, he is forced to watch Hannes get killed protecting him and Mikasa from the grinning female Titan.

When Eren begins to cry in despair, Mikasa comforts and thanks him for always being there for her. Her words start a fire within him. Determined to protect Mikasa, Eren throws a punch at the female Titan, activating an unknown power within him that suddenly causes the other Titans to attack and kill her.

Not far off, Ymir now realizes why Reiner and Bertholdt want Eren so badly. He possesses the "Coordinate", the ability to control other Titans. Eren (holding Mikasa piggyback) runs off on foot, but Reiner is giving chase. Eren angrily screams at him to "LEAVE THEM ALONE!" This again triggers the titans to attack the Armored Titan. The diversion lets the surviving Scouts retreat.

Feeling sorry for Reiner and Bertholdt, Ymir bids farewell to Historia so she can help them. Later the two asked why she came back. Ymir said they can take her back to their hometown so they won't come back empty-handed.

A week after the Wall Rose incident, Hange gives her report to Levi, Erwin and Pixis. It reveals that the Titans that appeared within Wall Rose were, in fact, the people of Connie's village. Everyone is shocked by her theory that all Titans were once human. This discovery excites Erwin, who is more determined than ever to learn the truth behind the Titans.

Elsewhere, Armin and Jean tell Eren that they believe the reason Titans were attacking their own was because of him. Jean says, "It's up to you. If you're worth the price they paid, you'd better show it." Eren vows to do what it takes to atone for the brave people who died to rescue him.

Sitting on top of Wall Maria, a great ape looks over the countryside. On it's shoulder is a bearded man with glasses and a pretty nice six-pack (Well he does...right??) Who is this myterious person/Titan?
