An investigation is taking place. Everyone's equipment is checked as the Survey Corps attempts to catch the person who destroyed Sonny and Bean.
The evening before, grieving individuals look on as the bodies of the dead burn. Jean sees a vision of Marco and makes a decision to join the Survey Corps.
The recruitment assembly takes place. Commander Erwin Smith speaks to the new recruits, however, he seems to be giving away information to lure out a traitor. In the end, very few have joined the Survey Corps. Those who did include Armin, Mikasa, Jean, Connie, Sasha, Krista, Bertholdt, Reiner, Ymir, and a few others.
The new recruits are taken to Survey Corps headquarters where they meet up with Eren. Soon after, they are briefed on a new mission.
The Survey Corps members embark on their 57th expedition.
